Switching
Switch to Invoxa from your current invoicing app
Move your clients, items and invoices to Invoxa in minutes: export a CSV from Wave, Zoho, FreshBooks, Invoice2go, Square, PayPal and others, then import it.
Switch from Wave
Invoices with their line items, dates, taxes and payment status; customers with addresses and emails.
Wave's own Data Export has no invoice file; the Wave Connect sheet is the only invoice export.
Install Wave Connect
The free Google Sheets add-on from Wave; sign in to your Wave business.
Download the invoices
In Google Sheets choose Wave Connect → Download → Invoices (all dates), then File → Download → CSV.
Get the customer list
In Wave open Settings → Data Export and take the customers file from the zip.
Switch from Zoho Invoice
Invoices with line items, taxes, totals and balances; customers with addresses; items with prices.
Open Invoices
Click the ⋯ menu at the top right and choose Export.
Export all fields as CSV
All invoices, no template, no password, then download the file.
Customers and items too
Repeat the export in Customers and in Items if you want them without invoices.
Switch from FreshBooks
Invoices with line items, rates, taxes and paid dates; clients with addresses, emails and phones.
Export invoices
Invoices → More Actions → Export Invoices, all dates and your currency, then Download CSV.
Export clients
Clients → More Actions → Export Clients.
One file per currency
Repeat the invoice export for each currency you invoice in.
Switch from Invoice2go
Invoices with totals, status, paid amounts and dates; clients with email and address; line items when exported.
Open Settings → Export
Or Reports → Export, depending on your version.
Export invoices as CSV
All dates. Line items are in the file when the export includes them.
Export clients
The same way, for the client list.
Switch from Invoice Simple
Invoices with numbers, dates, clients, totals, paid amounts and balances.
Invoice Simple documents the steps but not the columns of the file; the import maps the columns it finds and lets you fix the rest.
Open Settings
The gear icon in Invoice Simple.
Export as Spreadsheet
Under Invoice; the file is sent to your e-mail or a cloud drive.
Upload the file
If a column is not recognised, map it on the review screen.
Switch from Invoice Ninja
Invoices with line items, taxes and balances; clients; products.
Open Reports
Choose the Invoice report and add the item columns (Product, Quantity, Cost, Line Total).
Export → CSV
Download the report.
Clients and products
Export the Client and Product reports too if you want them without invoices.
Switch from Square Invoices
Invoices with totals, status and paid amounts (one line each: the export has no line items); customers with addresses; items with prices.
Square's invoice export has no line items, so each invoice is imported as one line with its total.
Export invoices
Square Dashboard → Invoices, clear the filters, click Export.
Export customers
Customers → Directory → Import/Export → Export Customers.
Export items
Items → Actions → Export library (XLSX works too).
Switch from PayPal
Paid invoices with the payer, the amount, tax and date.
PayPal has no invoice-list spreadsheet (the Invoices page downloads PDFs only), so only paid invoices come across; unpaid ones you can import from their PDFs.
Activity → Download
Reports → Activity download in your PayPal business account.
Balance affecting, CSV
Choose the date range and CSV, then Create report and Download.
Upload the file
Rows with an invoice number become paid invoices.
Switch from Invoice Fly
Invoices with numbers, dates, clients, totals and status.
Invoice Fly documents the steps but not the columns of the file; the import maps the columns it finds and lets you fix the rest.
Open Tools
At the bottom of the Invoice Fly app, then Export.
Spreadsheet (CSV)
Save or share the file.
Upload the file
If a column is not recognised, map it on the review screen.
How the import works
- Export your clients, items and invoices from your current app as CSV or Excel. The steps for each app are above.
- Upload the file in the Invoxa web app: Settings → Import documents → From another app. Invoxa recognises the app from the column names and maps them; you can change any column.
- Check and import. Every invoice shows its number, dates, client, lines and status; untick what you do not want. Clients and items are created along the way, existing ones are matched, paid invoices get their payment, and your numbering continues after the highest number.
No spreadsheet export? Upload your old invoices as PDF files, photos or screenshots instead: import your invoices reads them for you.
What does not come across
Invoxa imports invoices, estimates, clients and items. It does not import expenses, bank transactions, bookkeeping accounts, projects or time entries, because Invoxa does not have them. Payments on invoices come across as paid or partially paid status with the amount; card payments taken through the other app stay in that app’s reports.
Some apps export less than others: Square’s invoice export has no line items, PayPal has no invoice list at all (only the payments), and Invoice Simple and Invoice Fly document the export steps but not the file’s columns, so you may need to map a column or two by hand. We say so on each app’s card.
