Retail and Sales Invoice Templates

The Excel sales invoice lists items with quantity, unit price and discounts and calculates the subtotal, any credit or extra discount, and the balance due. The Word sales invoice has quantity, description, unit price, sales tax, shipping and handling, plus ship-to, P.O. number and "shipped via" fields. They are general sales invoices, so they work for retail, wholesale, consignment or delivery orders once you edit the lines.

What to include on a sales invoice:

• the customer's name and billing address, and a shipping address if it is different;
• each product with its SKU or item number, quantity, unit price and line total;
• discounts, shipping and handling, and sales tax, VAT or GST at the rate that applies where you sell;
• the order or P.O. number and the delivery date;
• your payment terms, the due date and your returns policy.
